Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One baby was strapped on my back as the other crawled in the playground. I spent 12 hours days for months sanding and stripping wallpaper while carrying one kid. Ha! The house was getting closer to being done, yet the project was still a way off. This was going take the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience to furnish this house. My three sons and me searched for hidden gems while attending estate sales in order to reduce my expenses. The routine we had for the week consisted of walking from Thursday to Saturday through estate sales and garage sales buying a mixture of antique and brand new furniture and then I would spend weekends painting and sanding the driveway. It was a bit like this... That's where my passion for restoring furniture began. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not stop! On the streets, I rented a small area and then sold a few pieces. Then, my collection got to the point that the space that I was living in was inadequate. I started having open houses in my home which saw over 1 000 guests came through on one weekend, and buy anything they saw on the ground floor. Growing Days was created in this home. Not only was my business thriving but I was growing our sweet family as well. In a way, I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new business. Growing Days just seemed to work. Nora my 4th child was born in the year 2013. My company was doing well but I wanted a rest. I got away from the old furniture in order to spend the time I needed with my family. That was precisely the thing I needed. It rang once more after some time. I started receiving calls from people asking me to help with their home improvement and design of interiors. The majority of people who contacted me came from people who visited my home at one of my furniture open house events. I began taking on clients one at a time working at my own pace but it wasn't too long before I had multiple accounts and was running an entire home improvement business. If you had predicted that this venture that I started would become an idea for a TV show on DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. If I think back, it still makes me giggle.
